K7 and J5 Appliances

The K7 appliance uses ultra-sensible sensors to measure the quality of the mandibular function and masticatory muscle status. This appliance can help us determine the diagnosis of the occlusion treatment. It is extremely useful when the patient experiences jaw cracking, migraines, teeth grinding or muscular tensions.

Furthermore, it provides the dentist with information on data that was previously unavailable. After the analysis, the dentist will receive a topography of the muscular function of the jaw and the alignment of the temporo mandibular articulation.

In order to facilitate the speedy reading of the image by the operator, the image is provided in colour and all its components are highly distinguishable. Furthermore, the K7 software can juxtapose a picture of the ideal closing trajectory of the mouth of the patient. Likewise, the measurements provided for the latter are highly accurate, thus allowing a precise intervention protocol and properly informing the dental staff on the different steps they will have to take.

In fact, this appliance, also called an electromyograph, is used in conjunction with the J5 myomonitor (neuro-electric transcutaneous stimulation). This appliance painlessly conditions the muscles to their optimum relaxation phase, which is then measured by the K7 and compared to the current occlusion of the patient (pain and articulation problems) and the ideal occlusion.

The dentist can then elaborate an adequate treatment for each patient, ranging from orthodontics to implants (or any other form of surgery), to building crowns or facets for partial or complete rehabilitation.
